Large size of population is our wealth: Barua

DHAKA, July 13 (BSS)-Industry Minister Dilip Barua today said the large population of Bangladesh is its wealth and it should be used properly.

" Intellectual property is more precious than all other wealth and in order to use intellect as property creativity- friendly environment must be ensured," he said while addressing a roundtable on growing counterfeit of intellectual property in Bangladesh at Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) auditorium here.

Intellectual Property Association of Bangladesh (IPAB) organized the discussion on `Growing Trend of Counterfeit in Bangladesh & Its Effects on the Growth of National Economy and Consumer Rights'.

The minister termed Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) as an
effective model for protecting intellectual property, and said "
We should also work together to resist piracy".

He said government would provide all out support to make the
private sector vibrant.

Former registrar of Bangladesh Supreme Court Ikteder Ahmed
moderated the discussion while Industries Secretary KH Masud
Siddiqui and DCCI President Asif Ibrahim spoke on the occasion.
