NBR Dhaka South Commissionerate realizes record revenue in 2010-11

DHAKA, July 12 (BSS) - Customs, Excise and Vat Commissionerate, Dhaka (south), realized record amount of revenue in fiscal 2010-11.

As per the provisional statistics, the Dhaka south commissionerate realized Taka 3,115 crore against the revised target of Taka 3,076 crore.

The amount of revenue will increase further when the statistics will be finalized, said a press release.

The business friendly policy of National Board of Revenue
(NBR), amendment to VAT management rules, creation of awareness
among the taxpayers and in-house training programmes contributed
to the success in revenue collection.

The commissionerate will be able to achieve its target in
fiscal 2011-12, if country's overall situation remains normal,
said the press release.
