$4.5m Bangladesh-Italy investment in Mongla EPZ

DHAKA, July 12 (BSS)- A Bangladesh-Italy joint venture company will set up a light engineering industry in Mongla Export Processing Zone (EPZ).

TA and PA Engineering Products Limited will invest 4.5 million US dollar in setting up its unit to manufacture welded wire mesh, fibre glass mesh, RIB leth and angle band items.

The company will create employment opportunity for 279 Bangladeshi nationals.

An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and TA and PA Engineering Products Limited in BEPZA Complex here today.

Md Moyjuddin Ahmed, member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA
and Tapas Chandra Paul, Managing Director of the company, signed
the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General ATM Shahidul Islam,
Secretary Md Shawkat Nabi and other officials of BEPZA were
present at the signing ceremony.
