Rajuk warns off publicizing unapproved projects

DHAKA, July 12 (BSS)- Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) has called upon real estate businessmen to abide by the relevant laws in their own interest.

At a meeting with leaders of Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) and Bangladesh Land Developers Association (BLDA) yesterday, RAJUK Chairman M Nurul Huda also warned against publicizing the projects that were not approved by the capital development authority.

In this context, he referred to the construction rules 2008,private residential land development rules 2004 and the wetland conservation act of 2000.

During the meeting in the conference room of the RAJUK, the REHAB and BLDA leaders requested for early processing of their proposals as well as their involvement in policy formulation and making current laws realistic.

The RAJUK chief assured that he would try his best to improve the situation by reorganizing the regulatory body and passing on their requests to the policymakers.

Sheikh Abdul Mannan, member (planning) of the Rajuk, told the meeting that groundwater level in Dhaka was falling fast, and if nothing is done now it may be irreparable in future.

He urged all to ensure maximum use of surface water, including rainwater, for recharging of groundwater.

Hossain addressed the function.
