Taxpayers' info centre opens in Ctg tomorrow

DHAKA, July 14 (BSS) - A Taxpayers' Information Service Centre (TISC) would be opened in Chittagong tomorrow as part of National Board of Revenue's (NBR) plan to set up such centres in all divisions in phases.

A source in the NBR said the TISC would provide Tax and VAT related services to taxpayers.

The TISC will also deal with income tax and VAT facilitation and help motivate businesspeople to pay tax duly and encourage field-level officials for better compliance.

The country has earned Taka 50,214 crore as revenue during 2008-09 fiscal and the volume of earning rose to Taka 61,000 crore in 2009-10, according to NBR.
